Since Summer 1999 Crusaders Romania Project has supported Cristia in the running of several Holiday clubs for local kids in a number of towns across Romania. In Summer 2001 we helped Romanians run 11 holiday clubs in towns and villages across Romania.
The accommodation for the British volunteers is with local Romanian christian families or in [very]cheap hotels. The children (40-140)come to a local hall morning and afternoon for 5 days of holiday-clubs. This is usually followed up by Romanian christians who start-up weekly clubs work in the area.
We hope to support the running of a dozen Holiday Clubs in Summer 2002.
Most kids at holiday clubs are 'unchurched' city kids. Kids in the weekly clubs are from both churched and unchurched backgrounds.
